In Switzerland, approximately 7,500 abortions are performed with the abortion pill Mifegyne/RU486 every year. According to studies, about ten percent of pregnant women quickly regret taking the pill and would rather give birth to their baby.

When taken in a higher dosage than the body produces, a hormone can neutralize the abortion pill.
Over the last few years, a medical procedure similar to an antidote has been developed in order to save babies. The pregnant woman simply takes a prescribed dose of an endogenous, completely harmless hormone at specified intervals.
